As is customary every year, EMAC® Group, the specialist in profiles and joints for construction, held its innovative Sales Convention on 5 and 6 September, where our sales team congregated from all around Spain, along with international representatives, and colleagues from our subsidiaries in America and Italy.
The Sales Convention programme kicked off on Thursday evening with a ‘Before Work’ session. Friday was an intense day entitled Training and Strategy, using gamification techniques (training techniques through games).
The Before Work session included a welcome event at our premises in Quart de Poblet (Valencia). Here, the different working teams for the next day were formed and their respective captains named – commissioned with leading their teams to victory, a war cry included. Participants, dressed all in white, were treated to background music and an informal dinner while being encouraged to make initial contacts with the event and their team.

On Friday, under the motto “Time to Play”, the Sales Convention continued. The year’s results were presented, along with forecasts for the coming year, an advance peek at Emac® Group’s latest innovations, to be presented at the Cersaie fair. Some group dynamics were also run for product training and strategy communications. It was the final section of Training and Strategy, which gave the differentiating Final Touch to Emac® Group. Gamification techniques were used with the aim of improving results and participation in initiatives.
They are likewise useful in increasing motivation and team commitment. To do so, popular Spanish TV contests were organised and mimicked, such as Password, El Gran Prix, Selling with the stars and the latest, the Spanish TV Show Masters of the Reformation. Selling with the stars competition was overseen by a professional jury made up of architect Rafael Bargues, interior designer Pablo Pérez from Samaruc Studio and materials distributor Big Mat Aldino with his manager Tomás Fenoll.

The games enabled the entire team to offer valuable input and contributions. They also allowed Iñaki García, Sales Director of Emac® Group an opportunity to emphasis the values of differentiation and teamwork which form part of the company’s DNA. The involvement of the entire team was total. A proof of this was the active participation in the games by Emac® Group’s CEOs, Emi and Nuria Boix, who used the opportunity to stress to everyone the importance of innovation, not merely in product but also in service and working method:
“These training days through games define us and generate a true link to our common goals, goals that help us work together and stay aligned with our strategy.”
The event ended with lunch at a nearby hotel, which served to continue tightening bonds, commenting on experiences we have had at this convention or in our daily work and just chatting in a relaxed way.

EMAC® Group wishes to thank all the attendees and organisers for their involvement in, commitment to and efforts towards constant improvement.
